This is one of the few "veggies" Daddy will eat. This is one of the easiest ways I've found to prepare dried black eyed peas.
Spicy Black Eyed Peas (adapted from Paula Deen)
1 pound dried black eyed peas, rinsed but not soaked
1 can Rotel (diced tomatoes with green chiles)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
4 slices precooked bacon
4 cup water
Place everything into a slow cooker and cook on low 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
Yum!
