Tara's Chess Cake

Another one of my favorite things Tara used to make was her chess cake.  It's really easy since she utilizes a boxed cake mix.

Chess Cake
layer 1:
butter flavored cake mix
1 egg
1 stick butter
1 cup pecan chips (small chopped pecans)

layer 2:
1 box powdered sugar (about 4 cups)
3 eggs
8 oz block softened cream cheese

Combine everything for layer 1.  It will be a stiff dough.  Press into a 9x13 glass baking pan.

Mix cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.  Add eggs one at a time beating after each.  Pour over layer 1 and bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
